Fresh Air (Andrya, Alin)

Animal Day

He could barely take in any air as he tried to find a safe spot, but he kept on bumping into people and it didn't help him calm down at all. He just wanted to get away, far from the pet shop but his body didn't want to coordinate properly and Denathaniel just needed to STOP.

He closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and held back the scream he wanted to let out in pure frustration/fear/anxiety. And that's when he realised he'd forgotten Arlen and Colin back at the pet shop, which he didn't think he could go back to at the moment. It made him want to sob.

He had been (not so) silently freaking out most of the day, reaching out with choked sounds as people moved and touched his artwork. "Ah! Tu cretini! Nu strica nimic!Ah!" Alin really had no idea how, or really why, but his artwork was being showcased. It was a small showcase, but Alin did like the building it was in - large, and seemingly wide open with the open windows.

After all the art was inside, he practically hissed at everyone who came near, choosing to set everything up himself. He really did not trust very easily, especially with his art.

Getting bumped into a few more times, Denathaniel took a right and entered the first open shop door he encountered, needing to be out of the open.

He almost startled when his eyes came across a familiar style of art, making him tilt his head to the side and take in the room as a whole, his jaw almost dropping as he noticed Alin being rather possessive of his creations.

He could only stare, the shock being a bit too much for his system at the moment.

He heaved an exasperated sigh and ran a hand through his hair, making a face when he saw in a reflection that white roots were starting to form. "Time to dye it again... how sad..." He turned to look for something but stopped when he saw Denathaniel. Alin looked around quickly and waved slightly to the familiar face.

"Hey... you look a little... rough." He had no idea what had just happened, obviously, but Denathaniel seemed a little too shocked for this to have been the first surprise/scare of the day.

Andrya stopped walking when the birds suddenly became a lot more noisy.

¡Callaos!

The birds stopped and looked up at her.
"Don't look at me like that. You're the ones who were being annoying in the first place."

She leaned against a wall to think about where she could look next. Denathaniel couldn't have gone very far.

He tilted his head to the side, the words from taller man reaching him as if trough water.

"Rough...? Yes...today's been rather...hectic," he manage to chuckle. "What's going on here? Almost look as if someone decided to raid your sketch books."

He moved over to one of the drawings, smiling as he followed the lines. "These are good...people should be allowed to see them, no?"

He nodded and suddenly threw up his arms, as if exasperated. "That's practically what they did! I feel so violated! But... I can't stop it now I suppose... and people here are enjoying them far more than they did in Braşov.."

Alin blinked a few times, as if troubled by something before waving it off. "Anyway, anything I should know about so I do not suddenly shove you back into the apparent terror from which you just came?"

Denathaniel chuckled at poor Alin's predicament. It was obvious that the young man wasn't used to having his privacy disturbed and hung out for the whole public to see.

"People who don't enjoy your art should be shoved into an open grave and be buried alive," he joked.

He gave a shrug as he turned back to Alin. "Unless you already know the cause of my sudden panic attack, it's best to leave it be. Chances are that if you don't know what the subject is about, you won't stumble on it while trying to avoid it. My brother's a good example of that. Can barely keep a secret because he keeps on thinking about not talking about it, which results in his downfall when he's either inebriated or just not paying attention when you ask a question," he rambled off, himself trying not to think about the subject...hoping his brother's inability to keep quiet wasn't genetic.

As Andrya considered her options -which were keep looking or go home with the birds- said birds wouldn't hold in place.
As little space as they had with the both of them in that cage, they were jumping and throwing themselves against the bars.
Until eventually Andrya inadvertently dropped the cage, which broke upon impact.

The birds gave Andrya an almost insolent look before flying away. She followed them right into the building across the street, where she saw Denathaniel. One landed on his shoulder, gently pecked at him and moved off to let the second one take its place, then they both settled somewhere in their master's vicinity.

"I'll repeat my feelings from earlier. I hate birds," she said to Denathaniel.

Then she noticed that Denathaniel wasn't alone. "I apologize, I didn't mean to interrupt the conversation."

He blinked a few times, eventually shrugging. "Whatever you say. Not going to force it out of you." He scowled when one of the men getting his work knocked one from the wall. "Stangace prost! Nu sol munca mea."" Alin rolled his eyes and gestured over his shoulder with his thumb. "They have no clue what they are doing."

He stopped when he heard the new voice, one brow raising slightly in question. He crossed his arms, though more in need to have them somewhere other than at his side, and waited until he presence was acknowledged before nodding, waving it off. "It is fine. I was mostly complaining anyway, and being a durere în fund."

Denathaniel gave a deep sigh of relief, placing his hand on the bird on his shoulder, his whole body relaxing. "Don't go too far Arlen, and don't you dare touch those paintings, you dumb bird!" he said, making sure that Alin's creations weren't damaged.

He watched as Colin went to settle by Arlen and then turned to Andrya, crossing his arms defensively over his chest. "Birds don't seem to like you either, madam."

Denathaniel gave Alin a small grin as he tried to change his thoughts. "You should whip your slaves into better form," he joked, wincing as one almost dropped another piece.

"Oh don't be so uptight about it. It's not like I threatened to kill them," she said to Denathaniel, rolling her eyes."

Then she took a look around at the art.
"I don't know much about art, but these are amazing! If you ever need help teaching those idiotas a lesson for mishandling your work, just let me know. It will be my pleasure to make them behave," she told the artist.

She took another look at Denathaniel, but this one was still looking sour about the bird thing, so she turned back to the other.

"Obviously I annoyed Denathaniel enough that he won't take care of the introductions. I'm Andrya, nice to meet you."

He looked between the two, rolling his eyes before shrugging to himself. His eye was twitching at this point, fingers clenching and releasing the fabric on his arms. "They are driving me up the bloody wall! I am going to punch someone in the face if they do not DO THEIR JOBS BETTER!" The workers glare back at him.

He tilted his head in the direction of Andrya, showing he was at least still calm - and polite - enough to pay attention. "Pleased to meet you, even if the air seems a bit tense around us. I am Alin, and delayed comment, but thank you. But I really... really... don't like other people touching my work. Their hands are dirty and they are clumsy and... eeeeh." Alin shuddered slightly, truly offended the workers were touching his art.

Pouting, he had to admit that Andrya had been kind enough to actually bring the ravens back to him, even if she didn't appreciate their company, at all. "Thank you," he said, even if it was a bit delayed, before turning back to Alin.

"I'm surprised you aren't making them wear gloves. You know, those white ones that take in all the dust by keep whatever they touch clean. Might also keep their sweat away too," he said with a shrug, looking into his own pockets to pull out the muggle latex gloves he always kept in case of an emergency.

Andrya petted her chameleon, glancing at the birds to make sure they weren't still thinking about making it their next meal. Luckily they seemed rather busy taking in their surroundings.

"So, how do you two know each other?" she asked curiously.

He practically hissed when he saw the gloves, moving his hands as if to shoo the things away. "No. Those gloves and I... we've never gotten along very well. I cannot breath if I touch the bloody things. Thus, I would rather just deal with the dirt and grime and stand in their rooms in the dead of night until they wake and realize I just snuck into their without them having ever noticed."

Alin blinked when he heard the question, appearing to lose his anger for a split second. "I moped, we met outside, I draw - obviously, he saw pictures and portraits, and voila~ here we are now." Not the best of answers...

Denathaniel shoved them back in his pocket fast, not wanting for Alin to do an allergic reaction.

"I didn't mean these kind of gloves, I meant those cotton ones, that are really soft. And you wouldn't have to wear them...only they would," he said with a small grin. "So...if I happened to forget my address here by accident, would I be getting a visit in the middle of the night?" he asked suggestively.

Andrya almost rolled her eyes at Denathaniel's last comment.

"Are you sure you want to take the risk that C- your brother would find him in the house? He doesn't sound like the type who would give an intruder a chance to explain himself."

Andrya mentally scolded herself for almost flat-out telling Deny that she knew Christo. Although she had covered up her mistake quickly, it did sound a bit odd. But with a little luck, maybe Denathaniel wouldn't pick up on it.

"I'll try never to get on your bad side, it wouldn't be safe for you to sneak into my room like that," she told Alin with a smile.

He nodded some and flicked one of the worker's eyes as he walked by. "I saw you drop that picture earlier. Anyway, cotton would do. But I had no time to even think about preparations of any sort before they came barging in like some Vikings come to steal everything."

Alin looked between the two for a moment before laughing. "Maybe, Denathaniel. I need things to do at night. And I'm not going to question who's safety we're talking about, Andrya, because I would rather remain unharmed." He smiled charmingly at both of them before whipping around to point at a worker who came mere inches from having a dropped painting hit the floor. "I saw that. Hurry and get that one up so everything will be done and ready."

He frowned over at Andrya, wondering what she had almost let out before she seemed to correct herself. "Dear, my brother would be more than ecstatic to know I have company, even if it's to watch me while I sleep...which does happen to be one of his favorite activities," he said, shivering in remembrance of Christobal's rather odd patterns of sleep and actions.

He turned to Alin and smirked widely. "Come on over any time you desire to, though there are some nights that I may be out on the graveyard shift," he rolled his eyes at the ridiculous name for the usually slow but entertaining shift at the hospital.

"Yeah, ready to let even more people in, that don't have any experience in handling arts and who knows who will have grabby fingers." His smirk was pure evil, just to make Alin feel even more uncomfortable than he already was.

Andrya sent a fake glare at Denathaniel as she elbowed him in the ribs.

"Oh, don't listen to him. No one is going to touch your art," she told Alin.

"And if you boys are willing to help, I have quite a few ideas to scare whoever does look like they have grabby fingers."

His arm shot out and wrapped around Denathaniel's head, hand covering the other's mouth as Alin pulled him in close, whispering. "Speak such nonsense no longer. Otherwise, my nightly visit will not be one of good intentions." When he let Denathaniel go, he suddenly smiled, as if he had not just threatened that man.

"Now then, I heard something about devious plots involving the mental scarring of grabby-fingered men?"

He pouted as he was scolded twice, looking behind him as he heard one of the ravens give a rather loud caw.

"If you want to put up spells, you'd best hurry. Curiosity is starting to rear it's big head in," he said, motioning to a few people indeed peeking inside. "And it's not just men who have grabby fingers, children do too at the most horrid of times. I should know; about half of my childhood picking up after my brother's messes and now I've got patients coming in with the same 'syndrome'. You wouldn't believe some of their excuses as to how they got into their predicament!"

Denathaniel had to hold himself back from pinching Alin's or Andrya's buttocks when he mentioned the 'grabby fingers'.

"Ah yes, let's see. A variety of spells that activate when someone gets much too close..."

Andrya took out her wand and cast a spell on all but three of the art pieces. She went to one of the spell-protected paintings and reached towards it. Before she could touch it, it started to wail. The sound stopped a few seconds after she took her hand away.

"Now that's not the only thing they do. They'll randomly switch between a bunch of reactions, like wailing, telling people not to touch them with their dirty hands, screaming that they're about to get raped, etc. If you want a reaction added to the spell let me know."

Then she pointed at the three unprotected ones.

"We each get one. Do whatever you want to scare the poor souls who approach," she said with a grin.

He stared at Denathaniel, as if he knew what the man had to keep stopping himself from doing, before looking to Andrya. "Ah, sunetele de bărbaţi care au spulberat lor psihice." He laughed, almost darkly, and stood near a painting. "I do not mind children. They are children after all and what is meant of being a child other than being curious?"

Alin hissed at one of the workers who passed his work, a quick sound that was much deeper than his normal voice. "Anyway, I suppose we prepare ourselves, draga mea temnita de masterat." He noticed the people already starting to make their way in, moving to stand near the work he claimed, a favorite of his, to both guard and talk to those worthy of his insight.

Denathaniel rolled his eyes as Alin expressed his ease with children around his work, knowing that their different areas of expertise made it that they didn't encounter the same need to forbid certain actions, such as touching everything they wanted or were curious about. He instead turned his attention the the painting left for him to protect and a slow grin placed itself on his lips.

"Just to scare? Or can we traumatise also? Because if we can do the later, I have just the illusion spell to go with my plan," he said, intertwining his fingers and pushing his palms outwards to crack his ten digits.

"Traumatize all you want, Denathaniel. I might do some of that myself, if I find someone particularly annoying. Can't wait to see what you'll both do to the worst visitors, and how many people will end at St-Mungo's because of us."

And as she finished her sentence, a loud Get your dirty hands away from me was heard.

"Well that was quick. I was at least expecting a few minutes to go by before the spell was activated. Guess we'll have more work than I thought," she said, though she sounded quite pleased at the perspective of having more people to scare.

He waved his hand through the air, signaling his nonchalance in the matter. "Go for it... just honestly, if you scar the children... the tiny ones... I'll kill you." Alin nodded almost sagely and stood straight, arms crossed over his chest. Unlike Andrya and Denathaniel, Alin had no illusions. Instead, every time a grown man or woman came near with the intent to touch, he lunged forward and snapped at their faces, coming so close to biting their noses they jump away.

"But, if any of you see a man with long brown hair and a goatee, do your worst. It's all his fault..." He sneered and snorted, hissing at the couple that walked by him with strange expressions.

"Only going to traumatise the ones tall enough to reach for them beauties then," he said, waving his wand around the piece of art.

Once he was done, he moved his hand close and grinned as some of the skin seemed to peel back and start to fester, maggots appearing. As he expected, two noisy buddies came to rest on the stand, looking eagerly at the tasty meal that had just appeared for them.

"There, my trap is all set! Colin, Arlen, no actual attacking or we're eating skinny chicken tonight!" he warned the ravens.

Andrya remained rather quiet as she cast the spell on the painting she was in charge of protecting. She was trying to think of ways to perfect her spell so that it would have maximum effect. But ideas seemed to be keeping away from her at the moment.

She was however pulled out of her thoughts when her spell was activated. "If you touch me, you'll have to answer to her. And she's not in the mood to kid," warned the painting.

The teen who was about to touch the painting looked at her. She stopped herself from grinning and looked at him with a bored expressions. "Want to know what I did to the last person who messed with me when I was in this mood? I made him disappear."

"They never found the remains," said the painting.

The teen gave her another look but decided not to take his chances, and he walked away.

He pulled a chair from practically nowhere to sit himself in, one leg crossed over the other as he flipped some hair from his face. This earned a few stares to which he responded with a snarl. "Sigur, eu sunt flamboaiant, dar haide! Nu stii nimic despre mine doar de căutarea." He sent a rather rude gesture to a group of old women who were staring openly, smirking at their expressions as he snapped at another person who got close.

Alin looked at the other two before pulling out a sketchbook, shoving about three pencils between his lips to keep them in easy reach as he began sketching. Only he would sketch during his own art show. What a strange man. "Have fun, copiii mei de întuneric."

He sniggered at Andrya's dark humor before grinning as Alin took a seat.

"It's not that hard to hide remains," he told the redhead, before his attention was fully taken in by the pencils now being graced by the other man's lips. "I seriously need to take those linguistics classes," he said, swallowing dryly.

"If you're interested in understanding other languages, I would suggest learning Latin. With that base, you would be able to decipher a number of languages. Pero yo sé como tu es perezoso. No vas a intentarlo," she said, keeping on smiling as if she had never said anything mean.

She moved closer so that she could whisper to him
"Oh, and if you're trying to be subtle, you're failing miserably. Your jaw doesn’t belong on the floor. Dios, I would never have thought you ressembled my friend that much!" she shook her head with a soft laugh as she went back to her spot.

He looked up, the pencils still in his lips, and laughed, flipping a pencil to smack into someone's face before grabbing it from the air. "No worries, Denathaniel. I was simply complaining about everyone staring. Continue on, meu încă nu destul de iubitor." From the way he said it, it was definitely not an insult, but he stopped talking afterwords.

Alin continued working on the sketch, looking up with a questioning expression when Andrya whispered to Denathaniel. He shrugged a moment later and stared down at the paper before holding up a hand, gesturing for Denathaniel to come closer.

He snapped his jaw closed, the noise seemed to be too loud in Denathaniel's ears and he shot Andrya a dark glare. "You know what, Miss Scova? I'm finding it hard to find a reason to get along with you as the day goes on. Is there anything you could possibly say or do to change that whole perspective I have so far?" he hissed for her ears only, before continuing a bit louder. "Latin? Heard it was the hardest of them all. Takes me forever just to learn a new spell, forget learning the whole dialect!"

Ignoring her in favor of Alin, he made his way over, taking a deep calming breath as he went, letting himself relax.

"You waved, Mr. Drago?" he said with a side smile.

"Hmm... yes, I did. How lovely to know you come at my beck and call." He chuckled some and rested his chin in his palm, staring at Denathaniel with a serious, almost foreboding expression. After a moment, he reached up and used a finger to tilt poor Denathaniel's head several directions.

Must have been hard to know an artist at times...

"Oh! I get it." Alin instantly began working on his sketch once more, waving Denathaniel off without looking up. It was only seconds later when he looked back up with a smile, as if something came to him that he had forgotten. "Oh, and Denathaniel... I do prefer blunt honesty." His facial expression could have been described as the epitome of innocence as he went back to work on his sketch and scaring the people who had no common sense.

He chuckled at Alin's first comment, raising a brow as his head was manhandled around, but he didn't say anything, trying not to smirk too widely. Moving away a bit when Alin waved, Denathaniel did let his smirk show at his 'innocent' comment.

"Are you sure you want blunt honesty? Because there are varying degrees and I can assure you that I'm not crude enough to act out on the thoughts I'm thinking...well, not in public anyways."

Andrya came up and wrapped an arm around Denathaniel's shoulder. She looked at the two men with a teasing grin.

He chuckled and closed the sketchbook with a snap, smiling around one pencil still in his mouth. "Hold that thought, Denathaniel. You." He pointed at Andrya and laughed. "Normally, I hate women in general. Terrible sister, apathetic mother, we need not discuss it further. However, you... I adore you. I do believe it would do me good to make sure this is not our one and only meeting."

Alin smiled and stood, stretching to pop his back. "Now then, back to the current dilemma. Did you know they moved all my artwork from the building right next to this one? I have a flat above a small gallery, but they wanted a bigger one. Quite sad really... all that money I stole from them and it goes to waste." He shrugged, not truly all the concerned with the money he was talking about...

Hold that thought? he repeated in his head, almost laughing. He pouted slightly that Alin seemed to like Andrya so much, but he guess she hadn't really bothered the artist yet. He pushed her arm off and moved closer to the painting Alin was 'protecting'.

"Why did they move it all? Wasn't there enough space in the gallery? I know you create a lot, but don't exposition usually only show one theme and people have to wait for the next one?" And as he talked Denathaniel was once more mesmerized by the pencil in Alin's mouth.

He finally took the the pencil out of his mouth, twirling it around his fingers. "Normally, yes. But... this is all one theme. All of these are portraits of people caught unaware. I do so many in even just a day. So, everything was brought here. All the sumi-e artwork is still in the other gallery."

He flipped the pencil in the air and smirked as it landed in a small pocket in the open bag. Such little things amused him at times.

"Seeing as you're dying to get away from me, why don't you go look around and see if he sketched anyone you know?" she suggested to Denathaniel.

"Meanwhile I'll stay right here and chat with someone who doesn't dislike me."

She turned to Alin.

"How long have you been interested in art?"

Alin chuckled and ran a hand through his hair, pushing the long bangs back. "Interacţiunea dintre voi doi este destul de amuzant." He pointed behind one of the displays to a hallway. "Yes, I have three in of you. They are all in the same room at the end of that hall. The main one... you cannot miss it. I believe..." He paused to scan one of the walls. "Yes, it is half the width of the wall and goes from floor to ceiling. Took quite some time. And my fingers are still stained."

Sure enough, the ends of Alin's fingers were black, red, and brown. He turned to Andrya and laughed. "Well, my father did not take well to a young child sitting in on the military meetings being smarter than he was. Thus, I was kicked out. I turned to art on the suggestions of my dear tutor and friend and found I have quite a knack for it. So... over a decade I believe."

Denathaniel's eyes almost bulged out at the news that he almost had a mural to himself. He blinked a few times, sent Andrya a glance and then made sure not to run to the end of the hall Alin had indicated.

Andrya was most amused by how hastily Deny had gone off.

"Is he really 'that' inspiring?" she asked Alin.

He smirked to himself, drumming his fingers over his cheek before shrugging almost helplessly. "Considering I hardly ever draw anyone more than once, apparently. But I am a man of drawing from memory, so I tend to just do whatever comes easiest to my mind. If it makes you feel any better, I've already got a sketch of you. It probably does not, but it was worth a shot."

"Don't assume it won't make me feel any better before I have a chance to answer. It didn't occur to me that you could have already drawn a sketch of me. I'd love to take a peek!"

"Is simply what I am known for. Anyway, I will get it and let you see." He grabbed the bag and dug through, pushing aside several things until he pulled out a sketchbook, about average size, and flipped through the pages. Finally, he stopped and held out the book to Andrya.

"Hope you do not mind the fact it is practically just an outline right now. There is some shading, but I felt like keeping this one simple. Sometimes, adding too much just takes away from the image."

After having examined the three arts dedicated to him, Denathaniel took a bit of liberty by looking around at the others in the room before he went back to the front room.

"My, sir Drago! That sure make a man feel some very conflicted emotions," he joked. "Was that one of my brother I peeked in the room alos? The one with the man half hidden behind the curtain?"

If it was, it gave Denathaniel a possible hideout for Christobal, which meant he would be able to at least locate him once or twice...

To say that Andrya was in awe over the sketch would have been an understatement.
"Well what do you know, my dark side is showing just a tiny bit. And I can almost tell what I was thinking at that moment too."

She looked back when she heard Denathaniel.

"If Alin were to do a thousand sketches of you, Christo would be in the background of at least three quarters of them, to be sure," she pointed out in response to his comment.

She mentally cursed herself when she realized she had finally messed up and literally given away the information she had wanted to keep hidden from Deny a little while longer.

He raised a brow and flipped the sketchbook closed quickly, dropping it to the floor and kicking it back over with the rest of his stuff. He tapped at his lips with a thoughtful expression and then shrugged. "Considering I have no idea who, exactly, your brother is, I cannot answer that. And it is in my personal opinion... that you should be flattered."

He laughed and crossed his arms, resting his chin on the knuckles of one hand. He shrugged, feeling just slightly lost as now both of them were talking about this brother of Denathaniel's. Alin blinked owlishly. "At this point... I am wondering if I should know him."

[[Woo~ What a way to start the year.]]

Denathaniel laughed.

"Well, it's alright, it's been a while since you pointed out to me that one day in the street. And if I had that tracking device Mr. Mills and I were talking about, I would surely go get my brother to introduce him to you...on second though, I think it best you not meet him face to face. Christobal tends to be quite...eccentric."

He turned to raise a brow at Andrya, wondering how she could possibly know that his brother, even though he was often gone to get away from Denathaniel, still stayed close in case he was needed by his younger brother.

"And as one of my teachers used to say; 'Best to keep your two stalkers away from each other, or you'll never be alone for sure!'...she was one wierd old lady...not that I consider you a stalker, Mr. Drago!" he hurried to say, a too innocent smile on his lips.

"I suppose it is my turn to go look around, leave you both to talk."

Andrya took her wand out. "I might as well get some exercise while I'm away. I think I saw a group of revoltoso teenagers walk in a moment ago."

She smiled at the two and walked away, petting the chameleon that was still on her shoulder.

He waved to Andrya and smiled. "Then I hope you enjoy your little walk. And I ask you attempt to keep any and all blood away from my art. Mulţumesc!"

Alin laughed and looked to Denathaniel, tilting his head just slightly with a devilish smirk. "Oh, but I am, draga mea, naiv Denathaniel." Of course, he was being far from serious - he felt he had far more important things to do during the day than follow someone around. "Why else would I have done such large works of you?" He shrugged.

He also waved to Andrya, rolling his eyes at the blood comment. `

"Don't you think it could bring your art even more value? Blood is such a rich color...I wonder if there could ever be any way to mix paint tones to resemble it..."

Shaking himself before he really got lost in his own thoughts, while very interesting but not to be contemplated in public, he smiled at Alin.

"One of the reason for doing such works on my person may be for the lack of interesting subjects within this city. Maybe you should take a closer look to certain aspects more closely than just the glancing which you have done so far?" he suggested, one of the two ravens coming to stand on his shoulder, giving a loud 'caw!' in its master's ear.

He raised a brow and waved his hand through the air. "On it's own, perhaps. However, none of the works in here need blood on them... or even the color. I would know."

Alin snorted and shook his head, giving Denathaniel a rather odd look. "I shall continue with my methods as I have since I first started to get into art." He shrugged then chuckled, finding humor in the raven's actions.

"You are the artist after all," he conceded with a small tilt of his head.

With his hand, he shoved the bird off his shoulder, this one managing to catch itself mid fall and fly to another part of the exhibition while the second raven came to take place on Denathaniel's other shoulder.

"Bothersome chicken," he mumbled under his breath. "How is the artist life treating you so far in England? Not in any trouble for actual stalking, are you?" he asked teasingly to Alin.

Alin watched the ravens with an amused expression, rubbing his chin and mumbling slightly under his breath. He took out the sketchbook again, but instead of actually sketching, he seemed to be taking notes. "So far, everything is working wonderfully. I am just running a little low in the only category the rest of society holds any interest in - money."

He paused to chew on the end of pencil before answering the second question. "And that depends entirely on your observational skills and how much you would rather keep me out of it." Alin snapped the sketchbook shut, though continued to hold it, and kept the pencil in his mouth.

"Money...don't we all seem to be controlled by it," sighed Denathaniel, presently at a stand still with his brother on the argument of the elder of the two squandering away some of their meager living expenses.

Arlen suddenly made a noise from Denathaniel's shoulder and was gone in a flash towards the drawing that the Healer in training had enchanted, Colin coming back from where ever he had gone as if drawn by it's brother's interest in one young person having brought their hand too close to the art Alin had created.

"My observation skills tend to be hectic, at the best of times," he chuckled.

He smirked and pulled the pencil from his mouth long enough invade Denathaniel's personal space. "And that is why I am in danger of getting myself into trouble any time soon." He moved away and made a wide, sweeping gesture with one hand. "Ah, grandoarea de viaţă!"

Alin took a quick walk around the place, answering anyone's questions in Romanian (thus, being no help what so ever) and smacking children's hands when they got too close. When he was satisfied that no one would bother him for awhile, he put the pencil back in his mouth, unaware of the marks he was leaving on the end. Good thing there was hardly anything left of the utensil.

Andrya came back, her expression neutral.

"Well, I have good news and bad news.
Good news for you, Denathaniel, your birds just might get a snack after all.
Bad news for me, the birds might get a snack.
Bad news for you, Alin, or good depending on the circumstances, a few visitors might get bitten."

Having Alin in his space, Denathaniel subtly took a deeper breath and closed his eyes as he let the other man's scent wash over his olfactory sense. He leaned back against the wall and just relaxed, letting the artist do his thing, chuckling as he saw how exhasperated some people got when they couldn't get any answers in English from him.

When Andrya came back, he had to raise a brow at her expression, or lack thereof. He almost laughed at her words.

"Oh, I don't know about that. They're very volatile birds. If they don't get what they want right away, they simply switch to something else. Your lizard should survive...for now," he teased.

He dodged a swipe at his face from some man who was red in the face by the time Alin was finished speaking with him. He remained in the awkward position - bent back slightly with his arms behind his back - until the man stomped off. Then, a smile stretched his lips and he all but traipsed back over to Denathaniel and Andrya. "Îmi place frustrant chiar cele mai sfinte ale bărbaţilor."

He smirked almost evilly as he tapped the end of the pencil against his lips. "And there is to be no violence amongst the animals here... "

Andrya was going to comment on how glad she was that her pet was relatively safe, but one of the ravens jumped on her shoulder. She shook her shoulder gently to convince it to get off, but it stayed put. It even started to peck at the chain she was wearing around her neck, and eventually pulled on it too hard.

"Move," she finally ordered, pushing it away.

She then pulled the chain, and the ring attached to it, all the way out in order to replace it properly. When she was done she happened to look up towards the door. And she smiled almost evily.

"If I remember correctly, you did say something about us being allowed to do our worst if we saw a certain person, right Alin?"
She motionned towards where she had been looking. "Cause I think he just walked in."

He rolled his eyes. "If someone hadn't broken the cage, it would be easier to control my pets," he said with a look towards Andrea, smiling gleefully when Arlen went on her shoulder and started to pull at the shiny chain at her neck.

He actually chuckled when she had to pull it out to rearrange it after she managed to get the raven off, but when he noticed the ring that was on it, he stopped sharply and had to look closer, leaning forth to take in the jewelry properly.

"Yes...you did say we could," added Denathaniel, trying to get back his bearings with his mind spinning in circles, now more than ever eager to get his hands on his brother.

He raised a brow and looked around to see who they were referring to, but gave up and shrugged his shoulders. "My memory is a little iffy at most times, so if you say I said it, I probably did." He smirked, chewing on another pencil, and it was rather obvious he remembered anyway. "So, as long as none of the art is ruined, and you don't go on some killing spree, I really don't mind either way."

He shrugged and stared at the sketchbook for awhile, as if staring at a blank piece of paper was going to somehow inspire him. Then again, he was a tad odd at the best of times.

"The art will be safe of course. As for a killing spree, there are too many witnesses. Trying to take care of them all would feel more like a chore than anything."

She then turned to Denathaniel.

"What approach do you think we should take? I can think of three things off the top of my head.
One, we could stay right here and cast spells at him, driving him crazy cause he has no idea where they're coming from.
Two, one of us could go right up to him, chat with him a little bit and put him at ease and suddenly we humiliate him publicly. Or three, one of us goes up to him, then leads him to a less populated area, giving us plenty of time to come up with an idea?"

"Spotty memories, eh? You know, I am a doctor in training, maybe I could take a look at you to make sure it isn't too serious," he said with a slight flirt to the other man, smiling mischievously.

He then turned his attention on Andrya. "I do believe a killing spree involves a lot of killing a lot of people, which also includes the witnesses, does it not?" he chuckled. "The less dangerous choice for the art is taking him out back and seeing what we come up with, but it doesn't matter if the gentleman makes it alive or not; I happen to know a few ways to dispose of a body." Denathaniel's smirk was quite joyful, his eyes landing with adoration on his pet ravens.

He listened to them with interest, making himself comfortable on a chair he had brought in earlier that day. He rested a cheek on his knuckles, smirking as the two talked to each other. He waved a hand at Andrya, smiling almost innocently. "I know, I know. But, thank you for keeping the art safe from... whatever it is you two decide to do."

He chuckled some and raised a brow at Denathaniel, humming as if in deep contemplation. "Yes, spotty memory can be a bit of an issue, so I cannot be too safe in this matter. Of course, it can wait until you are finished. I would much rather you not be distracted by what it is you're planning. I would like for nothing to be missed... just so I feel better." He smirked again and nibbled some at the end of his pinky finger, since it was the one closest to his mouth.

“When I think about it, I agree that luring him away is best. The killing spree wouldn’t work as there are children among the witnesses, and the public humiliation means that people will take notice of us. I’d rather remain in partial obscurity.”

She looked out into the crowd, getting a good look at their target. He seemed to be a fairly social man, taking time to greet everyone that paid attention to him, shaking hands here and there. But there was also a detachment to his behaviour. Andrya guessed that he didn’t really care about the people, but he interacted with them just to keep up his image. Or something similar.

“So who should go have a chat with him? Alin, who do you think he’d be most likely to follow? Me or Denathaniel? Unless you’d like the honors of luring him out yourself of course.”

Eyes stuck on Alin, Denathaniel answered Andrya offhandedly. "We're in the middle of the day, Miss Scova. Should you desire obscurity, it would be best to wait till the sun starts to fall or find a very dark corner which the back alley lacks until later hour. Or wear a mask, but that might just draw more attention than you want some," he added with a smirk as he looked over at her.

"Whom do you think would fetch his attention more, Mr. Drago? He seems rather aloof if you ask me."

He listened to them both, crossing one leg over the other in an effort to get into a relaxed position. He pressed in fingers together in front of his face, eyes moving side to side as if he was seriously contemplating the situation at hand. "Well, I most certainly do not believe I should be the one to entice him over to you two - I am hardly that interesting. Now, as to who would gain his attention better, I have no clue yet..."

Alin hummed quietly and drummed his fingers over his cheek. "Oh, I am dreadful at deciding. I suppose... Andrya might be able to get his attention a little easier."

Andrya smiled at the two. “I think I’ve got just the thing.”

Based on her previous inspection, the man appeared to be all business, so rather than try to flirt with him, she decided to try and get him by talking money. When less people were around him, she approached and extended her hand.

“Catalina Andrews, pleased to meet you. I’m Mr. Drago’s manager.”

He didn’t seem the least bit impressed. “He hasn’t mentioned a manager.”

“Never does. He prefers to pretend I don’t exist. I’ve come to propose a collaboration. Put our forces together. We use your gallery but, to appease my client’s nerves, you let my team take care of moving the artwork and assure its security. At no extra charge to you of course. You get free labour, increased foot traffic, and I get exposure for Mr. Drago whether he appreciates it or not. We could perhaps… go in a back room and discuss the details?”

He had been listening intently, so his reply came as a surprise.

“I don’t think so.”

“Oh, do you have a previous engagement? I promise we can make it quick and you can be on your way shortly.”

“No previous engagement. I just don’t do business with women of your type.”

Andrya wasn’t going to let him go that easily. “And what type of woman am I?”

“Controlling.”

He returned Denathaniel's smile with his own, though it looked a little crooked with the pencil still between his teeth. "Trust me - I am hardly interesting in a public setting. Just... eccentric and enigmatic." A raised eyebrow almost made his words comical, but he attention was turned to Andrya too quickly to actually think on it.

"Hmm... I think that is what she is doing, but it looks to be... failing. That is almost distressing."

“You really think I'm controlling?” she asked, smiling graciously at the man.

“I’m absolutely convinced.”

She stepped right up to him. If he cared at all about her invading his personal space, he didn’t show it.

“I’m about to become even worse,” she said with a slight tinge of menace in her voice.

So far no one seemed to have been paying attention to the conversation, and those who had been near them in the beginning had moved on elsewhere. She took his hand and raised her voice enough for a few people to hear her.

“But daaaarling! It’s not nice of you to ignore your soul mate. All I want is to steal a few minutes of your time so we can talk. Is that too much to ask? Is it?”

“Leave me alone woman.”

Some people who were seeing the display looked at him disapprovingly.

“But honey! ...You’re ashamed of me. That’s it, isn’t it?”

The man frowned. “What do I have to do for you to stop this nonsense?”

“Why, come talk with me. Like I’ve wanted since the beginning.”

“Fine. Lead the way.”

Ah, the sweet taste of victory. She led him out back and waited for the guys.

He seemed to hardly notice Denathaniel leaning against him. "Why yes... yes in fact she did just do that, and I do believe she wishes for us to join them."

Alin stood up and draped an arm around Denathaniel's shoulders, pulling him close. "Come, mea ignoranţi şi nu destul de iubit." He chuckled and went to find Andrya, not relinquishing his hold on Denathaniel. In fact, his expression seemed a little strained.

Holding back a winning smirk for Alin's touch, Denathaniel wrapped his arm around the artist's waist. As they were passing in a isolated corridor before being outside, he noticed the other man's expression. It made him stop and look more closely.

"Is something the matter?" he asked in a gentle voice, using his best bedside manner to hopefully sooth his companion.

He had followed like a good little boy, but now he was looking for a way out. Lacking any more ideas on what to say to the man, Andrya stayed between him and the door.

'How long does it take to follow me here?' she thought as she glanced at the door.

"Move, woman. Or I'll force you out of the way."

"I don't think so. Touch me, or your wand, and you'll regret it."

Not in a mood to take orders from a stranger, he reached for his wand, but before he could pull it out he had already been stunned.

"Warned you," said Andrya, taking a seat to wait.

He waved off the question, though his face still looked far from pleased. "It is simply... not a reunion I look forward to. Far from it. I never imagined I would see him so far west." He muttered something just under his breath, his eyes turning cold and hard as he finally made his way through the door and almost straight into Andrya.

"Oh, so you are guarding the exit already."

Alin had not released his hold on Denathaniel, even as he stared down the man that had been led there by Andrya. "Dragă frate..."

“For someone who said I’m a controlling woman, he shouldn’t have wasted his breath ordering me to move. And he most certainly should have expected me to hold true to my warning.”

Andrya shook her head. “Some men are hopeless.”

She wondered what Alin had said after he and Denathaniel came in, but she figured there would be plenty of time to ask about it later. Like when they weren't holding someone against their will.

He turned to Denathaniel and raised a brow before sighing rather dramatically. "You will find out soon enough. There is a reason I know him, and it's not because he's an art connoisseur. We have a long... long... long, never-quite-there relationship. And you are about to learn... I have long felt like I am the bastard child of the family."

He walked over to the man and rested his arm on his shoulder, towering over him. "So, I imagine Dracul sent you. Aaaaah, but how I was loving the freedom of living in Britain. That reminds me, how is Romania right now, dragă frate. Oh, for those of you who do not speak my native tongue, that means 'dear brother.'"

Alin smirked and his previous comment finally made sense - he looked nothing like his brother.

He could only blink for a few seconds, staring at this man who was as far from being genetically similar to Alin than brothers could ever be, though Denathaniel couldn't speak from experience since his brother and he were very close in appearance.

"Well...I'd have to see your parents to be sure, but 'he' might be the one that's the bastard, no?" joked the Healer in training.

He smiled while his brother only scowled. "Well, I am awfully... strange for a Romanian. The main difference is my near sickly complexion. Also, in my family, it is dark hair abound! And, of course, very dark eyes... I have this feeling that is truly embodies the idea of the eyes being the windows into the soul. I am also freakishly tall in the family! Ah, the wonders of genetics and recessive traits."

Alin's expression suddenly became serious. "However, you may stay but I am about to speak to my brother in our native tongue... likely whispering." He sighed and pushed the hair from his face. "I do not intend to make either of you feel awkward, but I must find out why Cosmin is here... and what the bloody hell Dracul wants." He rolled his eyes and roughly grabbed Cosmin's shoulder, spinning him and whispering harshly in Romanian.

Andrya grabbed Denathaniel’s wrist and pulled him several steps away. Far enough to give Alin some space, but close enough that they could step in if necessary.

“But tell me, are siblings always that, hmm, friendly with each other? Or do you think this is an exception?”

He actually felt himself blush at Andrya's observation of his interest, but he cleared his throat to answer her question.

"It all depends on the families. I myself am rather in good relation with my brother, when we aren't purposely trying to tick the other off. For an outsider like you, you wouldn't be able to tell the respect we hold for each other, but I can tell you right now that Alin's relationship with his brother, if not his whole family, is on a bad note."

“I clearly still have much to learn concerning family dynamics. It’s somewhat more complicado than regular interactions between people. Depending on my mood, I’m more comfortable with Mia than with people.”

Mentioning her pet made her think of something.

“Your birds. Shouldn’t someone go get them?”

Denathaniel blinked, suddenly remembering his troublesome duo. He glanced over at Alin over his shoulder before studying Andrya closely.

"Would you mind going? I'd rather not leave Alin alone. Not that I don't trust you to watch his back or anything...I just don't trust you is all," he said with a cheerless smile. "Or you could tell me how you got your hands on that ring you have on that necklace."

“That thing? A beggar gave it to me.”

Now that was a good lie, and one that came out quick and easy. Why had she slipped up so often earlier?

“And fine, I’ll go get the birds, but don’t come and complain if I have to use magic to get them in a cage.”

She left before he could reply.

Smiling winningly, Denathaniel turned back to see what 'progress' Alin had done on his conversation with Cosmin...once again wishing he would finally get around to getting linguistic classes.

Alin rubbed at his forehead and heaved an unnecessarily loud and dramatic sigh. "Spune-i tatal nostru iubit dracu 'să meargă el însuşi." He dodged a quick punch aimed at his face and smiled at his brother as Cosmin's face became red. "Ar trebui să cap, probabil, înapoi acasă." Cosmin huffed and turned away.

"Hmm... well that was pleasant. I am now emotionally scarred." His blank expression and monotonous tone did not match his words. "Anyway, apparently somebody or something, I am not entirely sure, desires my return to Brașov... which I am not planning on... satiating." He blinked a few times. "Ah... where did Miss Andrya go? Women are terrifying things... she must have known."

Raising a brow, he spread his arms slightly from his sides, hands open in a friendly gesture. "If you want, I can made the...'pain' go away," he chuckled.

Denathaniel raised a brow in Cosmin's direction, wondering what the man would do now, seeing as they were standing in his way at the moment.

"Ms. Scova should be back shortly; she went to reacquire my ravens."

He laughed at the offer, which might have been insulting except for the actual reason he was laughing. "How wonderful... if you had not offered, I was going to play a guilt trip and ask for comfort anyway." His smile faded some as Cosmin walked back up, looking confused and torn.

"Grăbeşte-te şi plecăm de aici."

He moved aside slightly to allow his brother to head back. Alin sighed and ran a hand through his hair, chewing on his lip.

Andrya ended up almost bumping into Denathaniel when she came back. She shoved the cage in his arms.

“You owe me. It’s twice today that I’ve had to deal with those two,” she told him with a glare.

She then stepped away from the door and kept quiet, hoping she hadn’t interrupted anything.

Chuckling at Alin's teasing words, Denathaniel gave a grunt when Andrya ran into his back and then shoved the cage in his hands, which he was careful not to put his fingers between the bars since the birds were so angry.

"Sorry feather brains, looks like you won't be getting an early lunch," he sniggered at them, ignoring Andrya on purpose.

He raised a brow as Andrya walked out and handed Denathaniel his pets. He chuckled just under his breath and vaguely noticed Cosmin go through the door. Seeing the birds though... it reminded him of something. "Oh dear... have either of you seen Puţin? I just realized he ran off..."

Alin started looking around on the ground and patting down his shirt, trying to locate this Puţin he had just mentioned. He might get some help if he had actually told anyone who or what this Puţin was.

Andrya tried to piece together what Alin might be talking about.

Puţin; she couldn’t translate that.

He; so a person or an animal. Could be an object, but chances of that were slim. So that previous word was probably a name?

Alin was looking more on the ground than anything; so an animal. Most likely on the small side if he hadn’t seen it leave, and seeing as Denathaniel and herself hadn’t noticed a pet at all.

She started looking around.

“Where did you last see him? A description might also speed up the search.”

"You lost your pet?" blinked in surprise Denathaniel, not having realized the artist had one to start with this afternoon.

He then looked suspiciously at his birds, trying to determine if they had anything to eat or not, but it was hard to tell with all of their movements in such a restrained space.

"Maybe it's still inside?" he tried sheepishly.

He blinked several times then laughed and rubbed the back of his neck. He had forgotten to say what Puţin was. "Ah, yes, sorry about that. I often forget people do not have all knowledge in regards to my prattling. Ah, anyway... Puţin is a Fennec Fox, the tiny desert fox."

He sighed and looked around again, which was not working but he was freaking out. He looked at Denathaniel and blinked a few times, thinking about his words. "Hmm... you may be right. Puţin always seems too smart to jump out when I am outside."

Alin rubbed at his head, looking for all the world completely lost, and walked back inside. He looked around, stopping ever couple of steps to get longer looks.

Andrya followed Alin inside and started looking around as well.

“Where do you think he would hide? Maybe we can try to lure him out with something? It might help in case we overlook a hiding spot.”

Being the last one inside, Denathaniel glanced around outside once more before closing the door to make sure the little fox would not be slipping between their feet, even though he had heard that the fennec foxes were originally from warm places and London was far from that category.

"How long have you had your pet, Alin?"

He waved his hand through the air, as if brushing off all comments for a moment. "He would hide somewhere small, much warmer than the current temperature. And trust me, luring him with a treat does not work as well as one might believe." At this point, he dropped to his knees and pressed his face to the floor, looking under low-lying tables. "And I have had him... about four years now. This is actually only the second time I have lost him somewhere. He does not normally dare to venture beyond the pocket inside my jackets."

“I’ll go check in that room just over there. When I went around earlier it seemed to be warmer than the rest of the place,” she said to the two.

Then she leaned closer to Denathaniel. “But it does seem to have gotten quite hotter in here all of a sudden.” She was overkilling it on the jokes, and she knew that. But it was so tempting every time the opportunity came up.

She left them to go check in the aforementioned room.

Stifling the urge to strangle the woman, Denathaniel made sure to keep his eyes busy with the search and not fixated anywhere in particular.

"How long did it take you to find it the first time, if you don't mind me asking?" he ventured to ask, peeking behind a lounge chair, just in case.

He watched Andrya leave before looking behind a few more boxes, rubbing at his head. "Ah, well... the first time, it only took me twenty minutes to find him. He is small, but he never really gets too clever with his hiding spots. It is why I have only considered myself to have lost him once." He sighed and got back on the floor to peer under objects. His art show be damned now! Alin was more concerned with finding his pet.

"Well, I think you should at least place a tracking charm on his collar or something. Might save you the worry of the twenty minutes wondering where he's gone too," he chuckled, standing up properly and stretching his arms over his head.

"I've done it for Ismael before, when he was little. Kept hiding in the smallest of places and it would take my brother and I hours before we could get a hold of him."

"Ah... he does not have a collar. Tricky little bastard just manages to get them off no matter what I do. It is quite sad re-"

He suddenly stopped as he jumped a bit and ended up, somehow, latched onto Denathaniel with a strange look on his face. "... I hate little live things..." Alin kept his hold on Denathaniel as he lifted his leg enough to reach under the end of the pant leg. After a few seconds, he pulled out a little fox. "...... I just will not even bother asking..."

Andrya came back then.

"I didn't have any..." she stopped when she saw the fox and heaved a sigh of relief. "...luck, but apparently you guys did. I'm glad we found it."

She couldn't help but smile as she looked at the bird cage, the fox, and her own chameleon.

“Reptile, birds and mammal. Collectively, it seems we have the beginnings of a zoo.”

Denathaniel silently enjoyed having Alin so close to him, and he just had to raise a brow at the location of the little fox.

"You really didn't feel him there before now?" he asked skeptically, poking the little fox's nose just because he can.

"I can add at least one more to the collect, Miss Scova...if not two."

He huffed and deposited the little fox into an interior pocket. "In my defense... he was not in my pant leg to begin with. He scampered up there while I was talking to you. He has never actually done that before... it is strange."

He seemed to have forgotten he was still holding onto Denathaniel as he had yet to release him. "Zoo? Oh no, I do not want to hear about zoos. That laws here are far more strict than where I came from... I very much miss Odji and have not been able to obtain another. Ah, a tiger that is." He realized halfway through his vocalized mourning that Denathaniel and Andrya had no clue what he was talking about.

"Then forget I ever said the word. Things have been positive so far; we probably scared the heck out of your brother, we found the missing fox, and we're getting to know each other. I don't want to be the one to bring the mood down."

"Can I maybe invite you both out later today? For supper, perhaps? Unless you have other engagements. Or suggestions."

"Maybe you could smuggle him in," Denathaniel chuckled teasingly, looking directly into Alin's eyes. "It would be an interesting adventure."

Turning back to Andrya, the American smirked.

"Are you offering to pay for the food? Because I wouldn't turn you down. Students don't get that much of an allowance you know."

He blinked a few times then smiled charmingly, flipping his hair out of his face. "That would be interesting, hmm? Well then, if you find some way in which to help me in this endeavor, I would, of course, be willing to pay you back in some manner."

He kept his hold on Denathaniel, apparently not much of one for personal space. "I think some supper together would be a delightful thing for everyone involved. I believe I shall attend this spontaneous supper plan of yours."

Alin hummed and nodded his head, as if that had everything figured from that point on.

Maravilloso!" she said with a bright smile. "I can’t quite decide where to bring you, so let’s meet in front of this building at 7:30 and we can go from there.”

Denathaniel gave a resigned sigh as he moved away from Alin and picked up the bird cage.

"Then I suppose we shall meet back here at that time? I have to say I do need to get these scoundrels home and hopefully fed before being out for some time. With my brother on the loose more often than usual, they don't get as much attention as they did back when we lived in America," he said with an eye roll. "At what time does your gallery close at, my dear Mr. Drago?"

He nodded his consent while he seemed to be sulking over the fact Denathaniel had moved away... despite the fact he would have to have done so at some point anyway. "That sounds like a plan. And to answer your question, Denathaniel, my gallery closes at 6. Thus, I will be here alone for a little bit." He shrugged the statement off. He would likely just continue to sketch or paint the walls.

“Well, I suppose I will take my leave. There are so many things to do before we meet up again. Hasta pronto.”

She started to walk away, but stopped after a few steps and waved her wand. “I removed my security measures so that you’re not stuck with having your own art yelling at you after the gallery closes,” she said, smiling at Alin.

Then she left.
